Remarkable Dreamers

Welcome to Remarkable Dreamers. An interactive immersive exhibition taking place at SOFTER Lab. Together with 5 participants from UH42, we have explored how digital futures shape both our lives and our planet.

Welcome to Remarkable Dreamers. An interactive immersive exhibition taking place at SOFTER Lab. Together with 5 participants from UH42, we have explored how digital futures shape both our lives and our planet.

The process culminated in a collective work, Remarkable Dreamers, a deep-sea universe that exists in the borderland between fact and fiction, between the recognisable and the foreign.

Explore the infinite darkness and meet mysterious and mythical creatures — beings that are normally inaccessible to us humans. We know that we are incompatible by nature; we cannot survive in their world and they cannot survive in ours, and therefore we must attempt to approach each other in this digital no man's land.

SOFTER invites creative technologists and curious makers to join an exciting two-week residency to design, build and demystify cyberdecks.

In a world with increasingly black-boxed technologies and rapidly growing AI models, cyberdecks feel like a safe haven, a breath of fresh air, devices that give us hope for brighter tech futures built on playfulness, participation and decentralisation.

For more details and to apply, please read more on our blog.

Who are the care’tech’ers of the future?

Inspired by the current exhibition “Soft Robots” SOFTER invites you to an evening exploring the idea of care for technologies. Care has always been a fundamental part of life. Yet as technologies increasingly shape our everyday experiences, questions of care are often left aside. What will it mean if we care for our technologies? How can softness, intimacy, and connection be embedded into the digital systems and machines we live with? And what does softness look like in our technological futures?

Inspired by the current exhibition “Soft Robots” SOFTER invites you to an evening exploring the idea of care for technologies. Care has always been a fundamental part of life. Yet as technologies increasingly shape our everyday experiences, questions of care are often left aside. What will it mean if we care for our technologies? How can softness, intimacy, and connection be embedded into the digital systems and machines we live with? And what does softness look like in our technological futures?

This evening unfolds as a shared exploration of care as a technological practice. Through listening, speaking, and discussion, we will consider whether learning to tend to our technologies, and to listen more closely to their languages, can become a way of navigating, understanding, and resisting the extractive logics of big tech.Join us at Copenhagen Contemporary for an evening that begins with time to explore the exhibition, followed by artist talks, conversations, and a shared meal.
