What if everyone carried their own local network in their bag? In this workshop, we will transform tiny ESP32 microcontrollers into autonomous, battery-powered servers. We call them Server Charms, and they can be attached to bags, keychains, or worn as accessories. They can be populated with various content: from feminist server manifestos to tiny downloadable files. Each server then establishes its own WiFi network, and through a captive portal automatically displays the hosted content when someone connects to it. This creates an intimate, personal, and very local publishing platform attached to our bags.

As a last step of the workshop, we will build protective cases for the servers and explore how we want to personalise our small pieces of self-made digital infrastructure. No previous knowledge required, just some curiosity for hardware and software. We are just learning this stuff together!
