Who are the care’tech’ers of the future?

This evening unfolds as a shared exploration of care as a technological practice. Through listening, speaking, and discussion, we will consider whether learning to tend to our technologies, and to listen more closely to their languages, can become a way of navigating, understanding, and resisting the extractive logics of big tech.Join us at Copenhagen Contemporary for an evening that begins with time to explore the exhibition, followed by artist talks, conversations, and a shared meal.

Digital Care Lab

In this workshop, we’ll explore our current relationship with technology, imagine what a desirable digital identity could look like, and create a symbolic avatar to guide that becoming: a seed, a talisman, a small signal from a future you.
Through reflection, guided meditation, and creative making, we’ll rethink how we want to show up online, with more softness, honesty, and care.

Softer Digital Futures: Copenhagen 2023

Softer Summer Days

Softer Summer Days are dedicated to exploring how to introduce and manifest feminist values into technology, how to embody our ways of being and practicing in the directions of digital futures and how to use-world building as a tool for gaining collective agency.
Over the course of four days we will create, debate and investigate various topics and themes surrounding art, technology, nature and beyond, through workshops, lectures and group sessions. Together with our guest teachers, we will share thoughts, feelings and knowledge - using both our bodies and minds as tools for reflection - while working on a collaborative art project that we will define together.

Softer Digital Futures: Copenhagen 2022

We are manifesting and exploring SOFTER visions and values through our new conference format, Softer Digital Futures, where we will address the structural issues and challenges which are embedded in the current direction of art and technology.
As women working within 3D and coding, we have experienced feeling left out, not good enough, not tech bro enough, not professional enough, not worth enough - but this started changing when we met each other over the building of a computer, and eventually started SOFTER.
We are hosting this event to inspire and share knowledge with our community, but also to hopefully create a space for new friendships, alliances and collaborations.
